A Thanksgiving Cornucopia Punch

In light of the recent presidential campaigns and election results, let’s face it, chances are this Thanksgiving your gathering will need something a little stronger than just beer and wine.
Thanksgiving is a favorite of ours here at Barr Hill and we’re not going to let the election spoil our fun. We love everything about Thanksgiving; food, drink, friends, family, giving thanks, and football. A big part of why we live in Vermont is because there is a strong connection to growing food, raising animals, and making things from scratch.
Which is why we created the Cornucopia Punch, a delightful party punch with favorable spirits, fresh ingredients, and it’s simple to make. This abundant cocktail will keep your party positive and congenial whether it’s for 6 guests or 60 guests. Punch is always a party favorite.
1 x 750 mL bottle of Barr Hill Gin
1/2 750 mL bottle of Campari
32 oz cranberry juice
16 oz orange juice
1 x 750 mL bottle of Champagne
32 oz cold water
4 oz rosemary simple syrup*
1 cup raw honey
12 stalks fresh rosemary
4 lemons thinly sliced into wheels
2 oranges thinly sliced into wheels
5 cinnamon sticks
sprinkle of sugar
handful of fresh cranberries
FIRST: Slice lemons and oranges, place in a punch bowl, sprinkle with sugar, mix, and let rest. Then toast the cinnamon sticks until fragrant, use a toaster oven or a pan on the stove top. Add to the punch bowl.
NEXT: *Make the rosemary simple syrup by chopping up 8 sprigs of rosemary, place in a cup of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, stir in raw honey until honey dissolves. Remove from heat, cover and let cool. Before putting simple syrup in the punch bowl, strain the rosemary out.
THEN: To the punch bowl, add Barr Hill Gin, Campari, cranberry and orange juices, cold water, and rosemary simple syrup. Stir and taste, adjusting ingredients to your liking.
LAST: At the time of serving, add champagne, ice, and garnish with remaining rosemary sprigs.
The Thanksgiving feast is an opportunity to gather with friends and family, to transform the abundance of agricultural goods grown and raised in our region into delectable dishes and delicious cocktails, and to give thanks to all that is, was, and will be.
