Illinois Territory Manager

Caledonia Spirits, distiller of Barr Hill Gin & Vodka and Tom Cat Gin, is looking for an Illinois Territory Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Regional Director, the Illinois Territory Manager serves as a dedicated portfolio resource in Illinois. The TM will focus on developing the Caledonia Spirits portfolio through driving new points of distribution and increasing velocity throughout the market. This role will work closely with our distributor partners to achieve depletion and distribution goals. The TM will work with the Regional Director in the development of the local sales plan and then manage and oversee its implementation and execution.

The Territory Manager position requires a driven, passionate, and committed sales professional with a proven track record of cultivating industry relationships and working well in fast-paced, collaborative environments. The Territory Manager must be able to recognize and communicate the passion and enthusiasm that begins at the distillery, understand our product’s distinct characteristics, and communicate this to customers and distributors in an honest and authentic way.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO

 General Sales Management

  • Responsible for the delivery of sales depletion and revenue targets in assigned territory and defined key account universe
  • Responsible for tracking local program budgets and managing assigned T&E
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Director to develop and implement sales programs and manage execution with the assigned distributor partner
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts, including initiating new relationships with accounts for Caledonia Spirits
  • Accountable for achieving focused KPI’s and the completion of evaluations to measure
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Director to develop, localize, and execute 4 quarters of programming at all times that is aligned with the National Sales Plan and Strategy
  • Implementation of localized quarterly programs within the market of responsibility at all tiers of distribution, with focus on managing distributor execution of programming
  • Drive strategic growth and market penetration through the development of new accounts and placements and through maintaining and growing existing accounts – including managing relationships with assigned National and Regional account groups
  • Participate in strategic planning with the Regional Sales Director and local distributor
  • Forge and sustain successful, strategic relationships with distributors, buyers, and managers in order to build loyalty for the brands
  • Provide market trend knowledge and relevant data to the Regional Sales Director
  • Manage distributor and customer inquiries and concerns, responding directly or facilitating response, as necessary/appropriate
  • Provide brand and category education to the distributor partner, key accounts, and consumers through presenting at general sales meetings, tastings, dinners, mixology & digital/online consumer and trade engagements

 General Management

  • Represent the company in alignment with the brand and company values
  • Attend trainings, team meetings, market blitzes, and other company-sponsored events as scheduled (physical presence required)
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary customer and company information
  • Complete other projects and perform other duties in support of the company goals and objectives, as requested

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field of study, with 3+ years of experience in sales, and experience in the premium and/or super premium spirits business.

Required: Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the skills, knowledge, and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, paired with a proven track record of successfully leading a sales team in the growth of a small or regional brand.

Bartenders (Full and Part Time)

Caledonia Spirits, distiller of Barr Hill Gin & Vodka and Tom Cat Gin, is looking for part-time and full-time Bartenders to join our team. Our bartenders provide exceptional and knowledgeable customer service while supporting the full scope front-of-house duties, including, greeting and assisting customers, beverage service according to operational standards, keeping the bar, kitchen and retail spaces clean, assisting with events and retail functions, and other tasks as assigned.

  • Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner. 
  • Provide beverage service to customers according to company standards, techniques and protocols outlined in the company Bar Manual, including but not limited to: opening/closing the bar and front-of-house; cash drawer duties; style of service and guest interactions.
  • Assist Bar Manager, Lead Bartenders and Kitchen Lead with all aspects of service and cocktail preparation: mise en place. 
  • Staff retail space, assist customers, complete merchandise transactions, and provide customer service according to company standards, techniques and protocols.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks as required to maintain a high-level of cleanliness, order and safety in all of the front-of-house spaces, including the bar, kitchen, retail space, outdoor patios and the customer bathrooms.
  • Assist in monitoring and assessing safety within the bar and front-of-house spaces and consult with the senior bar staff and other management to effectively respond to and proactively address safety concerns according to proper/established protocol.
  • Operate within health and safety and Vermont DLC compliance requirements.
  • Respond to customer concerns with respect and with the intent to fully resolve the issue(s) of concern; report significant issues to management according to established protocol.
  • Active participation in research and development for menu creation and bar products.
  • Maintain knowledge of the company’s distilling practices and history and share the story of the brand with customers.
  • Assist with set-up, clean up, serving, prepping and other tasks as necessary for on and off-site events.
  • Lead guest tours, as necessary/requested.
  • Complete other projects and perform other duties in support of the company goals and objectives, as requested.
  • Attend required company meetings, training, seminars, landcrafted tours and annual company Summit. 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Required:  

  • Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the skills, knowledge, and      ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Valid Driver’s License 

Preferred: 

  • 2 years minimum bartending and hospitality experience. 
  • ServeSafe Certification, BarStarts, BarSmarts

Spirited Apprenticeship

The Spirited Apprentice role combines Direct-to-Consumer retail sales shifts and customer service support with unique cross-learning opportunities in various parts of our bar and distillery operation. The ideal candidate will be:

  • An enthusiastic team player interested in learning more about multiple aspects of the craft distilling industry
  • Passionate about connecting with people and providing a great guest experience

WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO

  • Perform retail set up and sales at the distillery and at a variety of events, markets and in-store tastings
  • Perform fulfillment of online orders and address service issues through email and social media
  • Assist in writing emails and creating social media content
  • Provide support for virtual events and cocktail classes
  • Represent the Barr Hill brand to customers through conversations, sales and tours
  • Assist with set-up, clean up, serving and preparing food as necessary for on-site events
  • Participate in cross-learning shifts in other departments including production, sales, bar, human resources or office administration
  • Complete off-premise errands in company vehicle as needed
  • Perform other duties in support of company goals and objectives, as requested

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the skills, knowledge, and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. 1 year or more customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Valid drivers’ license and two years’ experience driving
